Maison de Pierre, nr Josselin (14) Sleeps 14 - with private pool and kiddie's pool This lovely 'maison de maitre' dates back to the 17th Century and is situated in the beautiful, tranquil countryside of Southern Brittany, is recently renovated. Located in a quiet hamlet just 5 minutes drive from Josselin, supermarkets, restaurants & bars it is ideally situated to those wanting to explore, walk, cycle, golf, fish etc. or just do nothing at all. Maison Pierre is seriously luxurious without the price tag. There are 5 spacious bedrooms (two of which are 35m2) sleeping 14 in total. On the ground floor an open plan kitchen, dining area with a 'cosy-hole' has everything to cater to your needs. Dishwasher, washing machine, oven, hob, microwave, toaster, and kettle are all provided in the spacious kitchen area. The 'cozy-hole' is a seating area where you can chat, read, or just relax while keeping the 'chef' company. A large living area provides ample seating for up to 14 with TV+Sky + Wifi.  A huge fireplace features a wood-burner for cozy winter evenings. Separate w/c. On the 1st floor, a second family room (35 m2) comprising of a double bed + bunk beds has its own en-suite with bath + overhead shower & vanity unit. Separate w/c. The 5th bedroom has 2 single beds and again has its own en-suite shower room with vanity unit. On the 2nd floor, a family bedroom (35 m2) comprises of a double bed + 2 children's beds. An en-suite shower room adjoins it with w/c + vanity unit. There are a further 2 bedrooms, both with double beds and a shower room with vanity unit + w/c. Kids will love the games room where they can play pool, darts or table tennis. Fantastic oak beams features in all our rooms though predominantly on the ground floor with an ancient oak staircase  going to both upper levels, originating from a chateau. The staircase is an original feature and has been there as long as the house. It is a little uneven in places so therefore we advise that care be taken and also that the house may not be suitable for very elderly or infirm people due to this. For those winter lets under-floor heating will keep you warm and there are radiators on the 1st & 2nd floors. The back door leads out onto a large, terraced area with garden furniture, an outside bar and the 2 fabulous heated pools. The small kiddies pool measures approx 4m x 2.5m x 0.50m for young tots and the larger one approx. 10m x 5m x 1.35m. The pools are electrically heated and surrounded by a beautiful paved area with sun-beds. The pools are surrounded with safety barriers and a self closing gate as per safety regulations. A huge garden features a tree house with slide which kids will love, swings, plus ample space for football, games etc. Linen is provided except beach towels. For young children, pushchairs, highchairs, cots, & stair gates are supplied free of charge. Games, books, are also provided. Saturday changeover. Local Information Maison Pierre is situated in the countryside and yet not far from the highway for easy access to attractions, beaches and shops.  The beautiful medieval town of Josselin is just 5 minutes drive away. Here you can view the fantastic chateau situated on the Nantes-Brest canal. Tabacs, pavements restaurants and abundant shops are aplenty in this historical town. Just 50-60 minutes drive away are the south coastal beaches and ports which are reminiscent of the Cornish coast.  La Trinité-sur-Mer has the best sailing waters. Quiberon is renowned for its sea water therapy centres and regattas and facing west is the Cote Sauvage, the wild coast. The mysterious standing stones - four thousand of them - dolmens, and mounds were erected during Neolithic times, between 5000 & 2000 years BC in the town of Carnac. Carnac Plage also happens to be a popular seaside resort therefore providing a good day out for all the family. The old historical towns of Dinan, Vannes, Rochefort en Terre, are within 45 minutes drive. Half timbered houses, ramparts, & churches line the narrow streets amongst the many shops and restaurants. The second largest forest in Brittany - Lanouée Forest, is just 10 - 15 minutes away for enthusiastic walkers and cyclists to explore the many paths. Broceliande conjures up the mysteries and magic of Arthurian legends. It is believed that the remains of Merlin lie in the megalithic monument in the Paimpont Forest. Seven thousand hectares of this forest and the surrounding area attract many because of its tranquility, beauty, castles and abbeys. Discover the golden tree, The Fountain of Youth, Arthurs Tomb plus much more..... Ideal for packing a picnic and chilling out under its canopy or put on your walking boots and discover the many trails. Ploermel, just 15 minutes drive away is a small haven for those loving water-sports. Water-skiing, sailing, boating are all available on this popular resort. A man made beach, restaurant, small pool with slide, children's park, tennis, golf, walks, plus shops, supermarkets close by. There is a little bit of something for everyone. Information and pamphlets of zoos, dinosaur parks, animal farms, water parks etc for young children are provided in the house.
