Beautiful modern ground floor apartment right on the coast at Sarzeau - Sleeps 3 FLEXI

This modern apartment is on the ground floor with a terrace facing south to the sea. On the north side is a terrace with private garden. At the end of the garden there is a grass path to the sea and the sand dunes. 100 metres to the left is supervised bathing in season and a small shop and bar with clock golf. To the right are many miles of quieter beaches and bathing.

The beach is very close - 100m.  The Presqu'Île de Rhuys is a unique location, with the Gulf of Morbihan and its 40 islands to the north and the Atlantic coast to the south. Port Navalo lies at the end of the peninsula with boats going for trips round the islands of the Gulf and to the ring of islands on the Atlantic coastline.  It is a unique location for a holiday, offering a huge range of activities, including horse riding, many types of sailing, fishing, walking and even golf. Further afield, access to zoos, shopping and yet more historic sites can be found.

The apartment has one large bedroom, with a single and a double bed, large wardrobe and a desk.  There is a shower room with electric radiator and drying space and a separate WC with basin.

The main living room has kitchen, dining and sitting areas with two pairs of sliding doors opening out onto two terraces, from the sitting area and from the kitchen. There is a shared utility room with washing machine, basin, cupboards and some extra drying area.

The sitting area has a sofa and arm chair with coffee table that face onto the terrace; both have a small view of the sea. There is a TV with both French and English channels, a DVD and radio/CD player.   The round dining table comfortably fits three and is close to the kitchen area with its electric oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher, microwave and large fridge freezer plus good cupboard space

The larger terrace has a round table with chairs plus two relaxing chairs as well as a parasol and barbeque. To the side of the house is a good parking area.  This is reached via a private driveway.

Pillows, duvets, mattress protectors and spare blankets are provided but not linen or towels but these can be hired from the property managers or bring your own. No charge for electricity during the summer period. An end of stay cleaning provision is included if required. The apartment is available from 4pm on the first day of rental and must be cleaned and vacated before 10am at the end of the agreed period. If very late arrival is anticipated, the property managers can, on request, organise some basic provisions, provided adequate notice is given. There will be a charge for this and any other services provided. Travel or full size cot and highchair available if required.  If you are going to arrive too late to shop, our caretakers can arrange a shopping service for you, paid at cost plus their travel/time charges. 

The Area

The Gulf of Morbihan and the Presqu'île de Rhuys, in particular, is an area of Brittany that is well loved and awaits you to discover its beauty and benefits. The house is 100m from a magnificent beach, via private access, with supervised bathing during summer holiday season, miles of coastal paths, rock pools, sands and little harbours.

Coastal paths stretch for miles leading east past the ‘Chapelle’ and village of Penvins with bars & restaurants ’ and west past the ducal Castle of Suscinio. (The castle is open to public with musical evening events during the summer season and, indeed, throughout the year).  A favourite restaurant is close by and there many others close to the coastal paths.

A twenty minute walk through the sand dunes to this view of Chateau Suscinio. The chateau is a popular tourist attraction.  About 10 miles to the north is the Gulf of Morbihan with extensive walks along its shores, picturesque villages, bird sanctuaries and oyster beds. A 25 minute drive to Port Navalo at the end of the peninsula provides breathtaking views. Boat trips leave Port Navalo around/to islands of the Gulf of Morbihan or and the islands in the Atlantic.  On the peninsula, there are sailing boats, canoes and horses to hire, a golf course, bird sanctuaries and oyster farms.  The village of Sarzeau is a short drive away and has a number of shops, restaurants, a market and three supermarkets. Not far away, you will find the village of St Gildas de Rhuys, which has street markets on most days in the summer. The nearest major city with a railway station is Vannes, a 30 minute drive away with extensive shopping centres, restaurants, aquarium, swimming pool complex, and access to many other attractions including its medieval buildings and original walls.

A lovely relaxing week.  Lots of birds on the lagoons by the chateau. The Fermy de Suscinio sells seriously good cheese and the restaurants serve good, reasonably priced meals. 

An absolutely wonderful two weeks spent in Landrezac! Dreading going back to work in London.  It has been so relaxing on the beach, swimming, fishing, walking, out on the Gulf du Morbihan.  Fantastic food.  This is a very special place. 

Had a wonderful walk yesterday pm to Beg Lann. On way back, a whole frogs chorus on one of the lakes, masses of swifts, martens etc and we think, a muskrat, which seems to be the size of a small dog. So delighted with all the birds, we went back today and saw avocets, widgeons, teal, etc. we were thrilled". B&M

We re-discovered the beauties of this area after 25 years - the soft colours, warm sea and morning skies. Thank you, and see you again real soon.  CD

We had a great two weeks - thanks. The location as previous people have written, is wonderful - a good mix of "life" and the beauty of the area. It was amazing to be in a totally perfect location, just on the beach - great with our children...the morning swims when we had the beach to ourselves and the water so clean and still. The evening sunsets are just so beautiful and something we never tired of. We had everything we needed and we WILL most definitely be back. SC

We spent a lovely time here with fantastic weather! Enjoyed the sandy beache and visits to St Gildas, Vannes & Carnac. A pity we have to return home! GT 

The apartment was light and airy and had everything one would need.  The location close to the long beach was superb and quiet.  We walked along the beach or the beach walk every day and loved the marshes with so many birds.  Although there were no restaurants in walking distance, they were available a short drive away (Penvin) or 20 minutes away at Sarzeau.  Shopping at the most marvellous markets was available on many of the weekdays.

Saturday change & weekly/multiple week only during peak season. Otherwise we will try to accommodate other start day requests, also length of stays outside of July & August, this is due to availability of caretakers.
