    La Grange

     

    La Grange has been converted to a high standard from a handsome stone building. It is set in lovely, unspoilt, coastal countryside between the Belon and Aven rivers and close to the sea. There are many beautiful, safe, sandy beaches within a 5 to 20 minute drive. The picturesque artists’ town of Pont Aven is 5km away and offers a wide choice of galleries, restaurants and bistros to suit all tastes. Concarneau and Quimper are within an easy drive. The coastal path is a 5 minute walk from the house and the area is excellent for walking and cycling. The small town of Riec sur Belon is 1km from the house has a good selection of shops and a useful supermarket. Larger supermarkets can be found in Quimperlé

    La Grange is a very spacious detached barn conversion, sleeping from 2 to 10 plus baby. Reduced prices are available for smaller groups renting outside school holidays. With 3 bathrooms it is well-suited to couples wishing to holiday together but who would appreciate the extra space and privacy the house affords. It is also popular with family groups and we have had many 3 generation parties staying.

     

    On the first floor there are 2 double, 2 twin bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is an additional generously- sized twin bedroom with adjoining shower room and loo on the ground floor to the rear which overlooks the garden. This has proved very popular with grandparents, as it is convenient but quiet. Also on the ground floor there is a large, well-equipped kitchen/dining room with a dining table which comfortably seats 10. The spacious, beamed sitting room has French windows leading on to the private lawn at the front of the house. It is furnished with comfortable sofas and has a wood-burning stove, with logs provided. There is an additional sitting room with English Freesat TV and DVD player. Also on the ground floor is a useful utility and storage room, which houses the washing machine. The ground floor is tiled, while the first floor has wooden floors.

    To the rear of the house there is a spacious patio and lawned area, with 2 large garden tables seating 10, barbeque and garden furniture. This leads on to the large shared grounds of over an acre, bordered by trees and shrubs, where there is a boules pitch and table tennis table. There is ample car parking within the grounds.

     

    Cots, highchairs and stair gates are available. Clients are asked to bring their own bed linen.

     

    The Belon is famous for its oysters and excellent seafood can be purchased nearby. Riec sur Belon, the local village is 1km away and caters for most shopping needs. Larger supermarkets are available at Quimperle, 8km away. Pont Aven, the charming artists' village, is within 5km and offers numerous galleries and restaurants/bistros to suit all tastes. Guests can easily visit the numerous local attractions but many choose to remain close by to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the setting. There is little local traffic as the properties sit in a conservation area on a broad peninsular between the Belon and Aven rivers.
