L'Ecurie (on the left) is one of two adjoining cottages situated in a peaceful courtyard shared with two additional buildings. The cottage features natural stone walls and exposed beams. To the rear of the cottage is a secluded patio with a barbeque and seating area. The patio leads out to a large shared grass area surrounded by trees with a boules pitch and ping pong table situated at the perimeter.
Access to the cottage is down a quiet country lane, approximately 1 km from the village of Riec- sur- Belon and just 5 km from the picturesque artists’ village of Pont Aven. The cottage is set in peaceful wooded countryside in South Finistere between the Belon and Aven rivers and close to the sea. Numerous water activities are available nearby. The wooded coastal path around the Belon estuary passes just 400 m away. The nearest beach, Questelan, is within 2 km, as is the nearest boat-launching slipway.
The cottage sleeps four people in two bedrooms and is a mirror image of L’Etable and both are ideal for couples and small families. Often the two cottages are let simultaneously to friends and families who wish to holiday together.
The ground floor kitchen/living area is open plan with a hearth and wood burning stove. There are two 3 seater sofas and a small TV with English Freesat and DVD player. Free WiFi is available. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge. The dining table seats six. The washing machine is located in an adjacent outbuilding and is shared with L’Etable.
The closed-tread pine staircase leads from the living area to the first floor. There are two bedrooms: one is a double bedroom with a standard 4’6” double bed and the second is a twin bedroom with 2 standard 3’0” single beds. The bathroom has a full sized bath and also a separate shower cubicle. There is a further cloakroom with WC with washbasin. A travel cot, stair-gates and high chair are available on request. Bed linen and towels are not included, so please bring your own.
The local area is ideal for quiet walks and cycling. A suggested list of circular walks and bike rides is provided. There are many lovely beaches and harbours nearby offering a choice of sailing, canoeing, fishing, surfing and swimming in very clean water. The Belon is famous for its oysters and excellent seafood can be purchased nearby. The local village, Riec-sur-Belon is 1km away, walkable and caters for most shopping needs. Larger hypermarkets are available at Quimperle, 8 km away. There is an excellent golf course at Quevan, 20 km away. Guests can easily visit numerous local attractions but many choose to remain close by to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the conservation area setting.
