This pretty stone country property enjoys beautiful countryside views and has been tastefully renovated to leave behind some of the ancient reminders like the exposed stone, and oak beams. There are three bedrooms and it sleeps six. Wifi connection.
Enter in the hallway and to your left is the comfortably appointed lounge with huge dark oak inglenook and log burning fire. Comfortable armchairs and a sofa await your use after a day out exploring the region. click to enlarge Off the lounge is the huge kitchen dining room. The superbly equipped kitchen makes eating in, a tempting option particularly after a trip to one of the local markets to buy the fresh produce. There is an island, electric double oven, gas and electric hob, microwave, dishwasher and fridge (washing machine & drier in the garage). Entrance to the back garden. Upstairs there is a double bedroom, ensuite with bath, sink and toilet. Downstairs there are two further bedrooms, one a double and the other a twin. There is a further family bathroom with bath, separate shower cubical and toilet. There is also a separate downstairs toilet.
There are facilities for toddlers and babies, available on request. Four bikes provided for your use (adult/teen). Bring your own safety gear. Outside, the gardens are open, but private and there is garden furniture and a BBQ. It is a good size for family use. There is a large driveway which enables easy parking. Bed linen and towels provided (bring own beach towels)
Right on the edge of the Forest of Lanouée and within easy distance of Rohan and Josselin, it will be a case of which direction shall we go in today! The area is steeped in history. Visit the Josselin page for more information. The nearby Nantes Brest Canal, has towpaths which provide safe and easy walking and cycling with great spots for picnics
Location Local Attractions: There is excellent walking and cycling in the local area along the waterways of the canal and the river. Flat tow paths make cycling a pleasure, particularly if you take a picnic to enjoy at the well designed French picnic spots. Within walking distance: Le Forêt de Lanouée, well marked forest pathways make a good afternoon's walking. Fishing in the local canal. The local village of Les Forges with bars and restaurants. Local history can be explored via the many signs along the walkway. Within 5 minutesdrive: The village of Bréhan: 2 boulangeries/patisseries offer the best local croissants and gateaux. Good sized supermarket for all everyday needs, including petrol. Local Crêperie; housed in a renovated watermill, friendly staff and children welcomed. Within 30 minutes drive Josselin The town boasts a number of medieval properties, including a chateau and a church of note. There are bikes and boats to hire by the canal and a number of excellent restaurants. In the summer months a number of outdoor concerts take place. There is a bustling market on a Saturday morning which is not to be missed. Ploermel Lac du Duc is a small beach, safe for swimming, a children's swimming pool, large children's play area, some water sports , Golf course, Pontivy a picturesque medieval village with attractive houses, chateau, canal and river. There is a market on Tuesday. A good shopping centre for gifts and mementos Malestroit, St. Marcel Musée de Resistance, an interesting collection of historic facts and artifices from the 2nd World War. Plan for about 1.5 to 2.5 hours, depending on depth of interest. Market on Thursdays Within 90 minutes drive Southern Brittany beaches - beautiful safe, sandy beaches Northern coast - rugged scenery, pink granite cliffs, shellfish restaurants Gulf of Morbihan - boat trips from Auray or Vannes - 2 hrs. to whole day trips Carnac - standing stones, “a megalithic wonderland. This property met our needs perfectly, and was well placed for us have numerous things to do and places to visit.
