La Ferme nr Ploerdut, sleeps 6 with shared pool
La Ferme, is one of five cottages which in total can accommodate up to 30 people, plus babies. They are in the most idyllic of settings. They are situated at the end of a very quiet lane, south-facing, and with a 180 degree uninterrupted panorama of rolling fields and woodland. These beautiful mellow stone buildings were built over the course of several centuries. The earliest buildings still existing date back over 300 years and have been tastefully renovated to the highest standards, so you can enjoy a peaceful relaxing holiday “away from the madding crowds”.
La Ferme Fortifié was the original fortified manor farmhouse built in the late 1600’s. It has a stone spiral staircase in a tower with a “meutrier”, (a gun slit).
There is a massive stone Breton fireplace, (complete with wood burning stove for cosy winter lets), and many other interesting exposed stonework details.
The property has been restored to a very high standard. On the ground floor there is an enormous (37 feet long) open plan living/dining/kitchen area. TV, DVD. Wi-Fi.
On the first floor accessed via the stone spiral staircase there are three en-suite bedrooms (two doubles and one twin).
The original massive oak beams have been left exposed, including those in the three bedrooms and the upstairs landing. The exposed timber work and stonework is shown to its best by the contrasting white walls and the rose-coloured ceramic tile floor on the ground floor, and tasteful neutral carpeting throughout the bedroom areas. There are three ensuite bedrooms: two doubles and one twin
The large in-ground swimming pool, 9 meters x 4.5 metres x a constant 1.2m depth, with toddler safety alarm.
There's also four acres of grounds and woodland where children can relive the sort of childhood that older members of society can recall.
Electricity & gas are included; heating is extra if required. Bed & ktichen linen is included. You will need to supply your own personal and pool towels.
Lake Dordu is only a short drive from the complex
